It would be great if it were 2 month shoot but I doubt it would be that short. I think at the shortest it's 3-4 months. Lets not forget that Australia took like 6 months to shoot. And we have to remember Stowe is new at this so who knows what kinds of challenges might come up, and with location shoots too. I'm thinking 3.5 months, the shorter the better since that means more time for post, the last thing we want is anything to be rushed.

That gives a lot of time but yea you're definitely right. I'd start getting worried if it takes until May if they start in January. The Prestige was the smoothest thing ever, filming ended in April and then was released mid October, that's like 5-6 months of post. I wonder how long post would take on this film.

I just think "really Speildberg? That's the best you could come up with for Hugh?" when I think Real Steal, who knows it might surprise me but I'm not the least big excited for that movie whatsoever.

Back on topic though, I know that "Real Steel" is no guarantee to start in May, I'm just saying that by May UC should be done shooting. If not then that's when I start worrying about not having enough time in post, not everyone can work like Chris Nolan, and take the opposite side and you have Baz. Stowe is a first time director, so who knows how fast or slow she works, even with an experienced team, post usually takes 6-8 months, and assuming that UC will try to come out in December, May would be pushing it. Re the Oscars, I kinda really doubt Hugh will do it if UC gets in the way, which I think it will. You really need like a month off to prep for the Oscars and with the time constraints, I don't know if they'll be able to give him that much time off. I mean they could use the time to film the other actor's scenes but yea, I'm not too sure. As much as I would love for him to host again, maybe this year isn't the best year to do it.
